Patriot Camp 2022’s curriculum will focus on Westward Expansion which began to occur in 1783 -1784 following the Treaty of Paris at the end of the Revolutionary War. The treaty granted our new nation all of the land claimed by England from west of the 13 new states to the Mississippi River.
Our Founding Fathers had the wisdom to have that vast area surveyed & wrote the Northwest Ordinance which set down the parameters by which first territories would be formed followed by the formation of states within those territories. The NW Ordinance also laid out the guidelines for governance of the territories & states as well as a prohibition of slavery, a requirement for children to be educated in the classics, and a requirement that settlers live peacefully with Native Americans, Will these guidelines be followed?
This will be such an exciting time for both your children and all of us who volunteer at Patriot Camp! We can’t wait!!!
Please contact me anytime with your questions or concerns.
