Help us, help you.

Our Constitution and Declaration of independence make it clear that all people are created equally and are endowed with certain inalienable rights – life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our party welcomes people of all backgrounds, and we value humans that make up every race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender, national origin, age, or any other unique quality. We do not discriminate.  The Douglas County Republicans come from a variety of backgrounds.  What we all have in common is our love for this country and our beautiful state of Oregon.  We believe in protecting individual freedoms, preserving our Constitutional Rights, practicing fiscal responsibility, and empowering people.  If you share our vision of freedom and hope, we warmly invite  you to join us as we make Oregon great again.

Oregon Republican Party 2021 State Platform Convention

September 30-October 2, 2021 in Bend, OR

Preamble

We, the Republican Party of Oregon stand for our country s one nation under God, for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  All Oregonians deserve the opportunity, through hard work and perseverance, to build a more prosperous future for themselves, their families, and their communities, without the excessive burden of government.

We welcome and encourage all citizens to join our party and work with us to restore political balance by forming a coalition of free-thinking and diverse voters that will elect candidates who align with our ideals.

Our platform outlines our guiding principles, which define the role and scope of Government, the protection of individual rights, and the responsibilities we have to ourselves and our fellow citizens.  Together, we are committed to building a future of which we can all be proud.

Election

In honor of Gary Leif

We are so saddened by the recent loss of Representative Leif.  He was recently an animated presence at our early summer BBQ.  He is gone too soon and the loss is felt in our community.

View Gary’s bio here.

Douglas County Republican Central Committee Chair, Valynn Currie, told KEZI, “He was a wonderful statesman, he was a wonderful father, grandfather, and he was a wonderful husband to Carol, and he’s going to be missed by our community greatly”.

Click for the full KEZI story.

A memorial service was held August 21, 2021 at Roseburg Christian Fellowship.

“If there is a vacancy in the Oregon House, the board of county commissioners representing the vacant district must select a replacement. The board must consider three candidates who are members of the party that last controlled the district and must select a replacement within 30 days. The new representative will serve the remainder of Leif’s term, which expires in January 2023.”

A special convention was held August 6.  The following candidates were forwarded to the County Commissioners for consideration:  Steven Loosely, Eias Lalande, Chistine Goodwin.

The County Commissioners met 08/12/2021 and selected Christine Goodwin for the interim position.

Past Events

2021 Trump-Reagan Dinner

We gathered at Melrose Vineyards on September 17 for a beautiful dinner and night of hope.  Our State Senator and ORP Chair Dallas Heard spoke to us about Winning Back America in 2022.

We had the opportunity to meet multiple Republican candidates.

Our Table of Gratitude resulted in many thanks for some of our great Republican representatives in Oregon.

2021 BBQ Fundraiser

Our BBQ Fundraiser at Melrose Vineyards was a HUGE success!  We had great food and great friends together with a stunning backdrop.  Our own Dallas Heard came to speak, along with other prominent members of our community.

We expect our next dinner to sell out!  Buy tickets to the Trump-Reagan Dinner while supplies last!

2021 Patriot Camp

Patriot Camp is a very fun and non-partisan week-long kids’ camp offered each summer in Roseburg.  Kids learn the Preamble to the Constitution, sing fun songs, play games, make crafts, and meet important historical figures while learning about our great country!

Take a look at some of this year’s pictures captured by Sheila Nielsen Photography.

Special thanks to the Patriots who volunteered to make this camp happen again this summer!
