What is REALLY Happening to Douglas County?

Written by Todd Vaughn

Douglas County was once known as “The Timber Capital of the World,” and like other counties in the West that included huge, timber-rich tracts of federally-controlled forests, we reaped huge economic benefits from the receipts generated from timber-sales. This was based on an agreement called “in lieu of taxes.” The Feds removed these forests from the tax-rolls when they took ownership in the early 1900’s, but they agreed to manage them in a manner that created revenue for the counties… 25% of gross sales from Forest Service (National Forest) lands and 50% from BLM lands (including O&C). They also took responsibility for necessary fire-suppression efforts to protect these valuable resources and the communities that relied on them.

The “Endangered Species Act” (codified in the early 70’s) set the stage for an about-face reversal of this commitment… a reversal that, for us in the Northwest, took place in the late 80’s when the Spotted owl was listed as “endangered.” Radical “Environmentalism” took precedence over property ownership rights as well as the Federal commitments that had guided forest-management policy previously. All of the federally-controlled lands become “habitat” rather than developable “resources,” used for sustainable timber-production, mining, and public recreation. Our nation’s public lands were no longer “public.” They had been confiscated by a radical Marxist/globalist element that had fully infiltrated our government on all levels…federal, state and local. A well-planned centralization of Power/Control was fully underway… and in no time flat, large corporations throughout all of our most important industries jumped on board…and the titans of the timber-industry were no exception. This was all part of a comprehensive, global “sustainable development” plan developed by The United Nations called UN Agenda 21.

These days it is known as Agenda 20/30, and it is modeled after the type of centralized iron-fisted control that is exemplified by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The politically elite in both Parties (the Uni-party) are committed to this monopoly-of-control and to the incredible accumulation of wealth that it promises to anyone who “gets on board.” Large Corporations have become globalized, and the oligarchies that are rapidly evolving from this centralization of power are now operating in full cooperation with sold-out Uni-party politicians and the NGOs that they have been funneling money through for many years now. That is why the “Environmental NGO’s” have become so powerful… and so legally dominant…with support from judges on all levels.Douglas County is GOING BROKE… and it is not an accident. It is being done intentionally with the full cooperation from all of the key players involved. And what is the number one motivation that animates this devastation to our rural communities? THE CENTRALIZATION OF POWER and THE TRANSFER OF WEALTH from the masses to the elite.

It’s just the same old story…times change, but the desire to monopolize and control never goes away. And as our Founding Fathers warned us, every generation must fight the good fight if we are to retain our God-given rights and freedoms. Greedy, power-hungry humans will always form cabals with the intent of eliminating “the competition.”

This is exactly what has happened to Douglas County!

It’s not about Republicans vs Democrats. That is just a convenient distraction used by politicians who are sold out to the Uni-party globalists. All of the elected officials that signed the recall letter that Chris Boice wrote to get the Roseburg Six recalled from the DCRCC Executive Board are doing the bidding of the Uni-party. Whether they understand it or not, they support a model of governance that is exemplified by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They hate that our Constitutional model is based on individual freedom and self-governance (albeit “representative” by necessity). They hate the concept of “populism,” which demands government “of the people,” “for the people,” and “by the people.” This type of governance REQUIRES free and fair elections, and if the elitists that currently compose our “political class” are to retain control, they have got to hang on to the ability to “cheat elections.” They simply CANNOT ALLOW outsiders to infiltrate their political monopoly. Their deceptions are very effective to the average voter, and they are very good at posturing in a manner that appears to support the very things that they are actively preventing from happening, but some of us are getting wise to their game.

For example, no matter what you hear from the Douglas Timber Operators (DTO) and/or the Douglas County Commissioners who they own (bought and paid for), none of them want to see the level of yearly timber-harvest that is necessary to keep our federally-controlled forests healthy and productive…even though it brings much needed revenue to the county. They say they want it…but it’s a lie! The DTO currently owns enough timberland to supply their own mills, and they control the supply chain. The smaller mills that had to rely on federal timber sales have been forced out of business, and the DTO has gained monopoly-power over the industry. Our commissioners, who rely on DTO donations (and other benefits) have been secretly complicit in the financial demise of this county. They DO NOT represent us, and they CANNOT AFFORD to allow us to elect leaders that DO represent us. That’s why Dan Loomis, with the help of Tobias Read, cheats the elections for them. Our elected officials on all levels… local, state, and federal, along with all of the other players… the titans of the timber-industry (DTO), the environmental NGO’s (Umpqua Watersheds), the Forest Supervisors in the USFS and the BLM, the Judicial System, and the Institutions of Higher Learning (colleges), and the mainstream media, are all in agreement. WEALTH and POWER must be transferred away from the communities that once thrived on timber receipts. These communities must become reliant on the elitists who have earned the “right to rule,” and the vast resources contained in these forests (including the minerals) must be retained for the future control of the elite. Agenda 20/30 outlines the plan, and THAT is what is happening to Douglas County!
