“THE LEAST AMONG YOU ALL SHALL BE GREAT”
By Todd Vaughn
In the minds of many, a truck-driver is a rather lowly man when measured by today’s standards of success and social-empowerment. However, current-events taking place in Canada are forcing the world’s politically-elite to re-evaluate this position, as one of their own is reduced to cowardly impotence. Justin Trudeau, for all intents and purposes, has become a blubbering idiot, while his adversaries (truck-drivers) retain their identity as good-natured, hard-working, freedom-loving Canadians. It’s joyful to watch, and it brings to mind the consistent teachings of Christ.
He said (and I quote), “He who is greatest among you shall be your servant”, and “He who is least among you all shall be great”, and “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.” He called His disciple Simon Bar-Jonah (who was a simple, uneducated fisherman), “Cephas” (translated Peter), and then later declared to him “You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (nor shall Trudeau!). Perhaps truck-drivers and fishermen are not to be easily dismissed… especially when God is for them! And this brings us to the Republican Party.
I am a Republican Precinct Committee-Person… a PCP. My Party has declared to me (and I quote) “As a PCP, YOU are the most important person in the Republican Party”. It has also clearly stated “The first building block on the foundation of the Republican Party is the Precinct Committee Persons”. It is as though the Republican Party founders declared to us “You are the PCPs, and on this rock, we will build our Party”. And it is a perfect reflection of the self-governance that America’s Founding Fathers bestowed upon us, the citizens of this great nation, when they gave us our sacred “right to representation” through “free and fair elections”. Our elected officials are put in place BY US TO SERVE US. Thus, they are called to be “public servants”.
It is also a perfect reflection of what a common man can be when he is filled with the Spirit of God… and called to serve a “higher purpose”. And the people said… AMEN!
